I teach studio oil and acrylic classes in my studio at 1206 W. Cornwallis Drive on a continual basis. All levels of experience are welcome form rank beginner to advanced. Ioffer reference material and drawing techniques to make anyone successful and personal one on one assistance to achieve any style or technique. Each class includes a critique where all students learn from each other and celebrate each other's success. Each month a new class is offered to teach fun new techniques.

During the summer months, painting excursions are planned locally for the purpose of plein air inspiration. Still lifes are set up in the studio to inspire any interested students. Occasionally, models are called in for figure study. Color classes are periodically offered to assist students in color mixing and color theory.

Each spring all students are offered an opportunity to show their work in the annnual Art in the Garden Show. All students are invited to the annual Christmas Awards Banquet for dinner and a good time.

Several times a year there are opportunities to study painting abroad. I have taken students to Ireland, England, and Italy to travel and paint on site.

My classes are designed to make the student feel comfortable and welcome. Morning classes we drink tea and listen to music and discuss movies and books, or tell jokes and stories - basically just becoming friends. Evening classes are the same, but they are BYOB and we can enjoy sipping wine while we paint together.

Each three hour studio class is $15.00, but classes are paid for during the first week of the month. Usually if the month is 4 weeks long, monthly fees of $60.00 per month. Any night or day class can be substituted for another day if scheduling problems occur, but if all classes are not taken during the month they are not credited forward into the next month. Guests and drop-in students pay $20.00 per lesson.

Class supplies are offered for sale at the studio including: oil paints, acrylics, brushes, canvasses, and frames.
